On May 15, CNBC, one of the world’s most influential financial media outlets, released its 2019 "Disruptor 50" list, highlighting the 50 most disruptive companies of the year. YITU Technology was the only Chinese AI company to make the list, alongside two other Chinese companies, Didi Chuxing and Xiaohongshu.
At the same time, companies like Airbnb, Grab, Duolingo, and Niantic also made the list.
CNBC, known for its in-depth analysis and real-time reporting, has earned the trust of the global business community. Since 2013, it has annually published the “Disruptor 50” list, selecting 50 private companies that have transformed innovative technologies into sustainable business models. These companies are praised for "changing the world through innovation."
Famous companies like SpaceX, which successfully launched the world's most powerful operational rocket, Airbnb, the largest global home-sharing platform, and Uber, the largest global ride-sharing platform, have all made the list. Last year, Didi Chuxing and Xiaomi were the first Chinese companies to be listed.
The "Disruptor 50" list is entirely based on CNBC's proprietary criteria for comprehensive evaluation and ranking. It is a significant indicator for the tech and financial sectors. This year, scalability and user growth were the most important standards in the selection process. A record 1,200 companies were considered, and CNBC believes these 50 companies will disrupt multi-billion-dollar industries, with American companies beginning to take notice of innovation from China.
In its analysis, CNBC praised YITU for its world-class technology and the large-scale application of its AI in fields like public safety, healthcare, finance, and retail. The report also highlighted YITU’s release of the world’s first AI-based imaging diagnostic system for lung cancer and other cancers last year. CNBC commented: "This Shanghai-based company, founded just seven years ago, has used artificial intelligence to create a safer and smarter world."
Just last week, YITU released the world’s first deep-learning, cloud-based custom AI chip. With the launch of this AI chip and a series of other products, YITU has achieved world-leading levels in multiple technological fields, including computer vision, speech recognition, natural language understanding, and intelligent decision-making. This will further drive the application and deployment of YITU's AI technology in more real-world scenarios.
YITU is committed to world-class innovation and is eager to work alongside other “disruptors” to continue driving social progress on a global scale.
